'I need to get back to the day job' is something I thought for the first time today. It was a revelation and a realisation that I honestly now think of Olganna as a full time job and my new career.
Prior to this I had treated Olganna as a hobby, a little pleasure between the hours of my real job which I shamefully said was 'Just a Mum'. I was a little embarrassed by the fact that, that was it - I really was a just a mum. And embarrassed by the fact that Olganna was 'just a hobby'.
So this week has been a turning point for me, I have placed my first bulk orders of fabric, made some plans of action and embarked on new product lines and that is what sparked the thought 'I need to get back to my day job'. As I was playing around with a new pattern for a top I am developing for my range. Having spent enough time on it for now I thought, 'I need to get back to the day job' and begin making stuff for my next craft fair.
And with just that 1 single sentence I turned professional. It's been a fantastic day.
