Had a really good time with Helen at the beginners sewing class. Was so nervous beforehand but Helen soon made you feel at ease, so down to earth and very easy to get along with. The content of the class was just right and to actually make your own tote bag to take home was a huge bonus and totally unexpected. Would highly recommend doing a class with Helen - fabulous.
The beginners class was JUST that. Being able to lend a sewing machine was even better. Helen gave everyone 1-1 tutorials and was so friendly. Would really recommend.
Helen’s guidance was amazing! She had tips for my specific machine even though it’s rather ‘retro’!
I explained what I was aiming for and she tailored the session to meet it.
I learnt exactly what I needed and it gave me the confidence to tackle my own quilting project.
I now feel so much more in control of the sewing machine and don’t panic if things go a little wrong. I now know the golden rule of re-threading if things aren’t quite right.
Helen was so supportive and positive even when I found some of the steps a little intimidating.
I whole heartedly recommend these sessions. Best thing I’ve done in ages!
I attend an absolute beginners class with Helen to get more confident in using a sewing machine and wanting to know how to sew a zip and learn more about the different stitches you can use for different projects. Helen was excellent at explaining things clearly and also was able to answer any question I had, she was friendly and approachable and very knowledgeable about all things sewing and sewing machines.
I was in her studio above L&L hair salon with another lady which gave it a more unique, intimate setting, she let us choose two items to make and then assisted us step by step to make the tote bag and small makeup bag, I feel more confident and comfortable with my machine now and I feel I can understand patterns a lot easier.
I would highly recommend this class for abit of “me time” or if you want to try something new or if your like me and just need abit more confidence knowing how to use a sewing machine, Helen is the right lady for that and her beginner class was great value for money and time.
Helen is incredibly patient dealing with a group of 6 novices.
Teaching was clear, help provided throughout. Was so amazed I came away having made a really gorgeous bag!
Materials provided were really top quality.
