Young Makers Reviews & Experiences
Real feedback from real families — see what our Young Makers thought
Our Young Makers classes are all about confidence, creativity, and that proud “look what I made!” moment. Here you’ll find honest reviews from parents, carers, and the young sewists themselves — sharing what they enjoyed, what they learned, and how the sessions helped them grow.
These reviews matter. They help other families understand what the classes are really like, they show the progress young sewists make, and they help me keep improving the experience for every child who walks through the door.
If your Young Maker has attended a class, your review makes a huge difference. It helps nervous beginners feel reassured, it inspires other families to give sewing a try, and it supports a small creative business that thrives on community.
To read the reviews, simply scroll down. To leave your own, head to the bottom of the page — you’ll find the review box waiting for you. Share as much or as little as you like: what they made, how they felt, what surprised them, or what they’re excited to try next.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — it means more than you know.

My daughter is 9 and has wanted to use a sewing machine for a while. We bought one for her birthday but had no idea how to use it 🫣
We attended a class with Helen and now my little girl is making scrunchies at home using her own sewing machine. Helen was so lovely and was very happy to help us as beginners. Thank you for a fab class, we hope to come along to another session in the future 🥰
My 9-year-old daughter Isabella loved this sewing machine class! Helen was patient, encouraging and supportive, helping to build her confidence and skills. As a result, she successfully made three scrunchies to take home.
The class was a fantastic introduction to sewing and a wonderful opportunity for children to develop their skills and creativity. I would definitely recommend it to other young makers!
My Daughter Thea had been wanting to learn to machine sew for ages and was so excited for the first session with Helen, which was arranged by chance on a first Saturday of the 1/2 term break. She totally inspired following her first sewing class, so much so that spent the whole 1/2 term sewing scrunchies and practising all she had learnt from the session. She made a bag on the second session and can’t wait for the next!
My Granddaughter really enjoyed her lesson and got her machine out to continue her learning as soon as she got home. Thank you for arranging the lesson and she’s looking forward to doing many more.
